At Care Connection, community service is woven into everything we do, starting with our leadership, and recently our CEO, Nancy Crawford, spent a full day shadowing Veterans Treatment Court (VTC) through her volunteer role as Co-Chair of the Military Affairs Committee with the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce, a commitment especially close to her heart as a veteran spouse.
Nancy shared this experience in a heartfelt article published by the Santa Maria Times: “Veterans Treatment Court Offers Promise That No Story Ends at the Lowest Point.”
One thing is always true about Nancy: when she commits to something, she commits fully. Whether serving seniors, supporting behavioral health programs, or advocating for veterans, she takes the time to truly understand the systems, the struggles, and the people behind the numbers.
This hands-on approach reflects the heart of our organization. We believe you cannot serve a community unless you genuinely invest in it. Nancy’s willingness to dive in and learn alongside those who do the work every day; is a testament to the values that guide Care Connection Transport Services.
Our veterans deserve the strongest possible network of care, compassion, and accountability. By shining a light on Veterans Treatment Court and sharing its impact with the broader community, Nancy hopes to bring visibility to a program that is changing lives; quietly, powerfully, and with profound respect for those who have served.
